MATERIALS SCIENCES CORPORATION (MSC)
What do great scientists do when faced with failure? They regroup, retool, identify where the mistakes were made, and begin again.
ABOUT
Materials Sciences Corporation (MSC) is an engineering design and testing firm, founded in 1970 and headquartered in Horsham, PA, focused on high-performance composites. MSC has been performing research work for NASA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), US Departments of Defense and Energy, and the commercial sector for almost 50 years.
CHALLENGE
When MSC needed to improve efficiencies and increase capacity for accelerated growth, they decided to convert their ERP from GCS to Costpoint and upgrade their paper timecards to Deltek Time. Aware of the difficulties and pitfalls of such a project, they placed their confidence in another 3rd party team. MSC was assured the implementation would be a success, on time and on budget, with little disruption to their business throughout the process.
Unfortunately, this was not the case and the 3rd party failed to bring MSC live, costing the frustrated MSC team a considerable amount of both time and money.
SOLUTION
What do great scientists do when faced with failure? They regroup, retool, identify where the mistakes were made, and begin again. This time, with their backs against the wall, MSC chose Infotek to make this implementation happen, and Infotek did not disappoint. The Infotek consultants instantly assimilated into the MSC team, bringing their technical, professional and personal skills to the group. Forming a strong bond with the team leader and its members, the Infotek consultants brought a human element to the team, understanding the nuances of the team and the project. The Infotek team partnered with the lead on this project to ensure she and her people had the understanding and necessary know-how to independently and successfully manage the platform
